John, Although some may call any small Motorola controller a 'RICK', the term is usually applied to one particular box that is/was used in the GR300 desktop repeater. This is the HLN3333B Repeater Interface Communications Kit, which Motorola likes to spell as 'R.I.C.K'. The same unit without cables and accessories is the HLN3948B.
Other, specific-purpose controllers such as the i20R and 150R are not RICKs. The complete HLN3333B Kit is still available from Motorola Parts for about $280. The RICK by itself (HLN3948B) costs about $220. You really should get the RICK installation and service manual 6880901Z79 while it is still in print, about $5. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY -Original Message- From: [email protected] PROTECTED On Behalf Of John Transue Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 12:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Repeater-Builder Re: CDM1550 Crossband using Motrola RICK? Thanks, Bill. I think I could use such a box.
Where are they available? Are they a current Motorola product? (R)epeater (I)nterface (C)ommunications (K)it. It is a Motorola 'box' that can be configured as either a Uni or Bi directional repeater (along with many other variations).
The setup and configuration manual can be a little confusing but it works. BillB In a message dated 1:18:41 P.M. Central Daylight Time, EMAIL PROTECTED writes:.
